Park House Barn Outdoor Wedding Fair in the Lake District

Writer: Mindy CoeMindy Coe

This time last year I would have been in the thick of wedding season. Enjoying driving all over the country, capturing weddings full of love, dancing, laughter and summer sunshine!

Although this year has been incredibly different so far, it has been lovely to enjoy spending some time in my home in Lake District, enjoying the sunshine and reconnecting with local suppliers (via zoom of course).

I have been involved in some fantastic online events, including virtual wedding fairs and other events with wedding venues. I can't show you pretty pictures from the online events so I thought I would share some images from a wedding fair I photographed at Park House Barn, in the Lake District last summer.

The theme was based on outdoor weddings, and we had the most perfect weather for it. There were some incredible suppliers showcasing everything from eco friendly wedding favours (Little Lake District Luxuries), to wild British grown flowers and Tipi's mades out of natural canvas.

Covered in Style Events assembled a variety of stunning tipi's in the farm grounds of Park House Barn covered in festoon lighting. As well as a naked tipi dressed for the ceremony space. This lead into the natural canvas tipi which had been set up as the reception space, full of rustic wild flowers, stunnning fair lights and relaxed seating area. If you are looking for a laid back, boho, outdoor wedding, then this set up would be perfect for you!

Naked Tipis are a fab idea for a bohemian, alternative ceremony space. Consider asking your florist to dress the structure with foliage draping downswards to create that whimsical woodland feel.

The beautiful Belle tents you see beside the tipi are from the lovely Belle Hotel. These are used as a fantastic alternative wedding accommodation for a laid back wedding party, wanting their nights stay right beside the party so they can make the most of the partying right up until the end.

Abundance flowers grow their own, or source British flowers from the local area. They did such an incredible job of dressing the venue, tipis and ceremony space to look and feel like a wonderful boho outdoor lakeland farm wedding.

The tipis were surrounded by hay bale seating and fire pits for guests to sit amongst, and soak up the energy of Venue - Park House Barn Wedding Venue.

It was a fantastic day and I loved meeting all the couples who visited. I look forward to photographing many of your weddings here next year. I'll leave you with photos from the wedding fair as well as a list below of all the wonderful suppliers involved.

Keep your eyes peeled for further wedding events coming up at Park House Barn. Sadly their most recent Lake District Wedding Fair was postponed due to Covid-19. I'm sure it won't be long before we can be back there soon.
