Mindy Coe Photography Training Workshop

Updated: May 7, 2020

So back in February during none other than storm Ciara I hosted a photography training day for my wonderful Mindy Coe Photography team at the magical Botley Hill Barn wedding venue in Surrey

. Now if you haven't yet heard about my lovely new team of photographers, then do not worry, I will be introducing them. But you can also find out more HERE.

I have carefully handpicked each member of my team, so that they can bring the same skills and exceptional experience to my couples. Girls that can consistently produce the same standard of work.

I haven't found many photographers that the same unequivocal love for the industry as I do. Not only for weddings, but also the passion for what I do and the photography itself. I put in 110% care and attention to every single one of my couples wedding days, it is all about the experience they receive.

How We Began

We started the day with a yoga session, run by myself. If you didn't already know I am a qualified yoga teacher. You can read more on that HERE.

The reason I wanted to start this way was to help aid focus for the day and ensure we all had the same goal.

The Goal

I structured the training to ensure the following things were included:

  • Everyone's skills were up to scratch and top notch

  • Taught how I personally shoot

  • How to shoot consistently

  • Ensure the same love, style, story, angles, feel and emotions were coming from each of my team.

  • How they speak to clients

  • That my ethos as a brand is always at the forefront of their minds. That is to capture naturally, but to always help if needed. Remember the experience.

The reason I taught in this way, is because my team will be shooting in the same way as myself. I will still be editing all photos that go out to Mindy Coe Photography brides. But I cannot be in 2 places at once and it makes me so sad to turn brides away. So be having a strong team of hand picked photographers, who shoot my way, with me behind the editing helm, I can provide my brides with the images they want and capture their day perfectly, even if I am not physically there.

And to Finish.....

Once we had completed our skills and ethos training, we moved on to a mini styled wedding shoot to put all the skills into place and ensure everything came together when needed. I enlisted models and a group of wonderful suppliers for our little set up.

It was during storm Ciara, which actually was perfect! You need to be able to shoot in any weather and I thought it was a great opportunity to teach that. By directing the couples correctly and finding the right angles and light, you can still create that magic.

"The workshop totally went above and beyond my expectations! I didn’t really have an idea of what the day was going to be like apart from the basics we were told. You went into so much detail with getting suppliers involved etc I was totally blown away! Thank you so so much!"

I want to thank all the amazing suppliers that were part of our mini shoot. For the full list of suppliers, please see below.
